September 2020 updates - 4 points of note

1. Information from MVDC regarding new grant funding opportunities for local businesses recently announced by Coast to Capital LEP. Two of the grant schemes are due to open at midday on Tuesday 15 September 2020. Businesses will need to be ready to submit their applications as soon as they open as these particular grants will be allocated by Coast to Capital on a first come first served basis and are likely to be over-subscribed very quickly. The latest edition of Economic Spotlight the Mole Valley business e-newsletter contains all the information about the grants.

2. SCC: Closure of Weare Street from Coles Lane to Russets - to enable the removal of a collapsing culvert, replacement of fencing and/or carriageway resurfacing and/or highway maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible within the 18 month period of the Temporary Traffic Order which commenced on 1 September 2020. Advance warning signs will be displayed.

3. Notification of a non-competitive cycling sportive to take place on Saturday 4 October 2020. A section of the route will be on the A29 from the Forest Green road to the road to Coldharbour.

4. SCC: Government's Gigabit Voucher Scheme - the scheme provides the opportunity for residents and SMEs in defra designated eligible rural postcodes to apply as a group of two or more for funding of up to £1500 per home and £3500 per SME towards the cost of installing fast and reliable broadband connections.
